The symptoms of stress are as varied as the
organs affected. The symptoms of stress are affected through the action of the
psycho-neuro-immuno-endocrinal pathways triggered by the stress response.
Earlier, medical students used to be told by their professors:
"If you know Syphilis, you know your medicine!"
Alexander Fleming, with his ground breaking discovery of the wonder drug
Penicillin, reduced the incidence of syphilis in many parts of the world, and
many complications of late syphilis are no more to be seen in any patients now a
days.
Later, when we were medical students in late seventies, our professors used
to tell us:
" If you study Diabetes Mellitus well, you know your medicine!"
In the modern times, Stress is emerging as the number one silent killer
amongst all diseases affecting human beings.
Now it is time to tell the medical students:
"If you know Stress, you know your medicine!"
The ways through which stress affects the body are myriad. The symptoms are
as varied as the organs affected.

There is a simple way to recognize your stress status and the symptoms of
stress. When you are faced with
any situation, just mentally pause for a few moments to analyze your
reaction/response during the event and after the event.
